Yes, you do. As long as you have a current motorcycle licence, you can book our tours. Please note, you will need to produce evidence of this before your booking is confirmed.

Yes, there is no highway riding on these tours. Experience is essential. The roads in New Zealand can be windy, we still have gravel roads, and riding can be challenging. But don’t let that hold you back. A scenic motorcycle tour with Hog Tours will be an experience of a lifetime.
There’s a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 bikes on our Hog Tours, allowing us to provide a premium and high-quality service.
They call this stunning region the Winterless North but anything is possible. The region is subtropical, and it is usually sunny and calm, but the weather can change quickly. You can always contact us if you need recommendations on good riding gear to battle the weather and make sure you’re prepared for what you might encounter.
Our van and trailer will follow the tour, and that’s where you can safely store all your gear.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment needs to be made up to 30 days prior to the tour start date.
Yes, either with you on the bike or they can come along in the van. Please note, there will be an extra charge.
Definitely, just ask. We do recommend booking your stay early. Northland is a popular holiday destination, all year round but especially in the peak NZ summer months (December to February) and accommodation can fill up fast.
If you want to ride a Harley, yes. If you don’t have a licence, you can still join as a pillion passenger on a guided ride with Andy. Read more about our day tours here.

Our motorcycles are well-maintained and in great condition, and we travel at smart and responsible pace. In the event of an urgent situation, our support vehicle driver will be there to assist.
